How she came to be: my friend asked me to make five different Disney Princess amigurumi dolls for her five daughters: Belle, Rapunzel, Ariel, Tiana, and Aurora. I had a lot of fun sketching up the design ideas and writing the patterns, and I wanted to share the patterns with other fellow yarn lovers out in Internet Land.
Something that sets this pattern apart: I wanted to give Belle the big head and super-cute face details typical of Japanese Kawaii style (think Hello Kitty and Power Puff Girls). I also designed her hair to be fast and easy to stitch up--I detest the tedium of knotting individual strands onto a dolls head!
With E hook, 10 sc x 10 rows=2 inches square.
I have been crocheting since I was 12, making amigurumi for 5 years, and designing my own sci-fi/fantasy amigurumi for over a year. I also have a background in technical writing and graphic design.
