Pattern Description:

This exquisite zigzag shell and lace blanket is perfect for a new baby. The pattern looks complicated but is actually just a series of 3 panels of zigzag shells attached with a lace design and then a simple border to complement. This is perfect for anyone wanting to make a traditional style blanket but without the frills.

The blanket is worked in soft 4ply baby wool and is a great size to use as a wrap or shawl or a pram cover. This would make a wonderful gift for a newborn or perfect as part of a christening outfit. The finished blanket measures 90cm by 90cm.

You will need approximately 300g of baby soft 4ply wool, a 2 and 2.5mm crochet hook to make the blanket.

This pattern is absolutely gorgeous! I am on bedrest and decided to make this for my baby-to-be. I used a larger hook than asked for so I got a larger blanket. I didn't see the need for changing hook sizes when SS the panels together. Overall, this worked up pretty quickly as I'm not quite a beginner but certainly not a pro either! Will do this pattern again!

I love this pattern. It worked up quickly and it turned out very elegant. Just perfect for a boy... or even a girl. No frills... just simple elegance.
I didn't quite understand why it called for 2 different hook sizes. I followed the size change and it came out distorted.... although it wasn't bad and it was still GORGEOUS!
All in all I'm very happy I purchased this pattern and did it for my best friends new baby boy. Hope she loves it as much as I do.
