Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Basic crochet stitches including chain, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, and treble crochet.
  • Ability to read U.S. crochet pattern abbreviations.
  • Basic Tunisian crochet stitches including knit, purl, and simple stitch.

Pattern Description:

This e-book was created for national Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month in June, 2012. $1 from the sale of each e-book will be donated to animal welfare organizations. (As of December 6, 2013, $121.57 has been donated to Bideawee and $243.94 has been donated to the Humane Society of New York.)

30 Purrfect Stitches for Pet Blankets includes 20 crochet and 10 Tunisian crochet stitch patterns that are selected with pet blankets in mind. These stitches can, of course, be used for other types of projects as well. The booklet includes both easy and intermediate level patterns.

Each pattern includes written instructions using U.S. pattern abbreviations. The two stitches rated most difficult by pattern testers include additional process photos to assist with hook and stitch placement.

Each stitch pattern includes a suggested number of foundation chains needed for several sizes of pet blankets based on the recommended sizes from the Snuggles Project, and for 6" squares. The e-book also includes tips for making pet blankets, sizing up squares, and for simple edgings.

It was tested by 21 crocheters before being offered for sale. This e-book is self-published, but my patterns have also been published in KnitCircus, Crochet World, and Inside Crochet.

All of my patterns are for personal use only. You may use the patterns to make unlimited items for yourself, for charity, or to give as gifts. You may sell items you personally make by hand from the patterns. If you would like to teach a class based on any of my patterns, please contact me to purchase a commercial use pattern.

Exact gauge is not critical for these projects.
