This is an 11 page pdf with instructions to make this stunning Ruana in mixed weight yarns. A Ruana is a cross between a shawl and poncho. It can be worn as a long cloak or with the front panels over your shoulders like a scarf. Warm and colorful this pattern is easy enough for a beginner to create. There are many photos throughout the pattern to explain finishing techniques so that the beginner and experienced alike will be able to complete this project with ease.
While I mixed chunky and worsted weight yarns - all worsted weight yarn could be substituted.
Color A: 5 Skeins Dark Country Blue, worsted
Color B: 3 Skeins First Love: Lover's Lane
Color C: 1 Skein Light Gray, worsted
Color D: 3 Skeins First Love: He's the One!
Large size - 1 more skein of Color A and Color C
Yarn Colors A and C are worsted weight. I used Hobby Lobby brand:
"I Love this Yarn" (7 oz, 355 yrds)
Yarns B and D are Yarn Bee's Chunky yarn called "First Love" (5 oz, 143 yrds)
Small: 40" wide by 40 " long (minus fringe)
Large: 48" wide by 40 " long (minus fringe)
Finished Fringe: 7-8 inches
If you want more width there are notes to make adjustments. However, the Large size should fit most people in the Plus sizes well enough. Length is easy to adjust for all sizes.
All patterns are written using US crochet standard terms.
