Pattern Description:

I made this reading character bookmark pattern for Raggedy Andy lovers everywhere. He is holding a heart that Ann gave him.

This is a fun and easy bookmark to make

His heart can hang outside the book to remind any reader that there is more story to go. His three-dimensional head with cap hangs outside the book.

It uses small amounts of crochet thread and any colors can be used so it is a great project to use up small amounts of crochet thread (15 yards being the most that is needed).

You will need a Boye Steel Crochet hook size 1 (2.25mm) or Aluminum Crochet hook size B. This is a larger size hook than usually used with thread crochet and makes working with thread crochet easier for those who are not comfortable with thread.

You will also need a Steel Crochet hook size 10 (1.0mm) for crochet buttons on pants,

Gauge:

8 hdc = 1 inch (2.5cm), 5 hdc rows = 1 inch (2.5cm)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 3 inches (7.5cm) wide by 6 1/2 inches (16.5cm) long

  • bedspread weight cotton thread (size 10)

  • 14 yards cream (or choice of shirt color)
