8 hdc = 1 inch (2.5cm), 5 hdc rows = 1 inch (2.5cm)

Materials:

You will need a Boye Steel Crochet hook size 1 (2.25mm)or Aluminum Crochet hook size B. This is a larger size hook than usually used with thread crochet and makes working with thread crochet easier for those who are not comfortable with thread.
It uses small amounts of crochet thread and many colors can be used so it is a great project to use up small amounts of crochet thread (14 yards being the most that is needed).

15 yards Kerry green (or choice of jacket, shoes, clover & eye color)
5 yards black (or choice of Pot of Gold, belt and hat band)
4 yards gold (or choice of coins and buckles color)

Small amount red embroidery floss (or choice of mouth and hair color)
Small amount of polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle
