Pattern Description:

I designed this reading character bookmark pattern from the fairytale classic. I love the story of Little Red Riding Hood and her love of her grandmother. I love her flamboyant flair with her red cloak.

This is a fun pattern for Intermediate Level crocheters to make. I have made it for friends for a fast gift.

Her basket can hang outside the book to remind any reader that there is more story to go. Her three-dimensional head with hood that ties at the neck, hang outside the book.

Her cloak completely encircles her white pinafore and chemise and is detachable. Dressed in her best to go see grandma, the chemise has a large ruffled hem.

Boye Steel Crochet hook size 1 (2.25mm). This is a larger size hook than usually used with thread crochet and makes working with thread crochet easier for those who are not comfortable with thread.

Gauge:

8 hdc = 1 inch (2.5cm),
5 hdc rows = 1 inch (2.5cm)

Finished Size: 3 1/2 inches (9cm) wide by 7 1/2 inches (19cm) long.

Materials:

It uses small amounts of crochet thread and any colors can be used so it is a great project to use up small amounts of crochet thread
10 yards peach (or choice of skin color)
25 yards white (or choice of pinafore color)
13 yards blue (or choice of garment color)
62 yards red (red riding hood)
3 yards brown (or choice of basket, eye and shoe color)
Small amount red (or choice of mouth color) Could also use embroidery floss
1 skein yellow, gold (or choice of hair color) embroidery floss

You Will Also Need:

Small amount of polyester fiberfill.
Tapestry needle
Boye Steel Crochet hook size 1 (2.25mm)
Washable fabric glue.
