Pattern Description:

I made this reading character bookmark to commemorate Jill's historic climb up the hill. This will be a favorite of any reader.

Jill's pail can hang outside the book to remind any reader that there is more story to go. Her three-dimensional head with braids and scarf hang outside the book.

This is a fast and fun pattern to make. This makes a quick gift for a reader.

It would make a wonderful award for any academic achievement or to give a graduate to acknowlegde that reading is a life long habit. I have one customer who loves to add these as package adornments to spruce up her packages.

You will need a Boye Steel Crochet hook size 1 (2.25mm). This is a larger size hook than usually used with thread crochet and makes working with thread crochet easier for those who are not comfortable with thread.

Gauge:

8 hdc = 1 inch (2.5cm), 5 hdc rows = 1 inch (2.5cm)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

2 1/2 inches (6.5cm) wide by 7 1/2 inches (19cm) long.

bedspread weight cotton thread (size 10)
10 yards peach (or choice of skin color)
25 yards mint green (or choice of pinafore color)
13 yards cream (or choice of chemise color)
3 yards brown (or choice of pail, eye and shoe color)
Small amount red (or choice of mouth color) Could also use embroidery floss

1 skeins yellow, gold (or choice of hair color) embroidery floss
