Basic Skills Necessary:

  • dc/sc = UK double crochet / US single crochet
  • dc2tog/sc2tog = UKDouble Crochet / US Single Crochet 2 sts together
  • cl =Cluster st (Guidance included in pattern)

Pattern Description:

Meet Betty Prickles; the perfect little companion to keep your pins and needles safe. She's also a cute mini Amigurumi toy hedgehog. A great mini gift for craft fairs or stocking fillers for friends and family. Made with scraps of yarn it's also a perfect scrap buster.

Made from 8ply / yarn weight #3; all my patterns feature both UK and US stitch terminology (stitch guidance included in pattern)

4 stitches = 1 inch in 4 dc/sc = 1 inch / 2.5 cm

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Finished pincushion measures roughly 4 inches / 10 cm x 3 inches / 8 cm


  • 4 mm (US size G)
  • Scraps of dark brown and light brown and black double knit yarn

You Will Also Need:

  • Yarn needle
  • Stitch markers
  • Polyester toy stuffing
  • Bit of Ribbon
  • A red covered button / shank button for the nose
