The Hexagon Project 2014

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • basic crochet sts
  • working in the round
  • joining motifs

Pattern Description:

This is an ebook containing 6 different hexagon motifs. All 6 designs were published monthly on Ravelry as The Hexagon Project 2014. The theme for the Hexagon Project 2014 is versatility.

All hexagons are designed to be the same size so that they can be joined together and used to create a scarf, shawl, blanket or a cushion, table runner.....use your imagination! They are written for one continuous colour but can be done in many colours by changing colour at the start of each round. The motifs are suitable for those fairly new to crochet who can crochet in the round.

3 of the hexagons can be made one round smaller, and these smaller hexagons are also designed to fit together.

The ebook contains more information including schematics for layouts of scarves, shawls and blankets, tips on joining and half hexagon pattern and chart.

There is an active thread on my forum - Agrarian Artisan Designs:
There is a CAL on the forum running until 1st December, with prizes. So join the forum to join in.

The size of each motif is 14 cm (6.5 inches) from point to point in aran weight yarn using a 5mm crochet hook (US H). But please note that I do crochet fairly loosely. You can use any weight yarn provided you use a suitable hook size.

The pattern is written in English and US crochet terms, and is charted. The ebook has 27 pages.

IMPORTANT NOTE: New regulations in the EU (with effect from 13th June 2014) mean that patterns aren't refundable after download.
