Pattern Description:

I have a 7 year old special needs boy that just LOVES rugs! Having never made a rug before I set out to make a simple rug that he would love in his favorite shape - a hexagon. He picked out all the colors himself and I had it finished for him within a day or so of starting. It is his new favorite play area!

This rug is very soft and squishy under foot and very soft for the kids to play or nap on. It works up very quickly and is very easy to make and adjust the size if necessary. Make it in the colors I used, or use colors of your own choice to go with your dcor. Experiment with different yarn textures or weights and make it really interesting. There are endless combinations to choose from!

My granny taught me the basics of crochet when I was 5 & I have learned the rest on my own, mostly through books. I also taught myself how to knit a few years ago. And I taught a crochet class for awhile until I had my youngest son. I would love to open my own yarn store someday, as our closet one is about 50 miles away. I have been a happy yarn crafter for over 20 years! :)
