An awesome project for the beginning crochet student! This nesting bowl pattern works up quickly with beautiful results.

All instructions are written out completely with the beginner in mind, using no abbreviations. Includes both USA and UK notation. Requires knowledge of the following stitches:
chain stitch
slip stitch
single crochet (double crochet in the UK)

Materials needed:
G-6 (4.25 mm) crochet hook
8 ounces (225 grams) worsted weight yarn
Blunt yarn needle

You can sell bowls made from this pattern, of course.

Bowls are worked with two strands of yarn held together. When selecting yarn for this project, keep in mind that cotton makes a soft and sturdy bowl, acrylic is a tad floppy alone, but works well when blended with other fibers, wool creates cozy texture, while blends such as alpaca, linen, or metallic fibers add unique depth and richness to your final project.

Final measurements for the six bowls as pictured, from largest to smallest:
6.25 inches wide, 2.75 inches deep (15.9 cm wide, 7 cm deep)
5.75 inches wide, 2.5 inches deep (14.6 cm wide, 6.4 cm deep)
5.25 inches wide, 2.25 inches deep (13.3 cm wide, 5.7cm deep)
4.5 inches wide, 2 inches deep (11.4 cm wide, 5.1 cm deep)
4 inches wide, 1.75 inches deep (10.2 cm wide, 4.4 cm deep)

Perfectly sized to nestle inside each other, these six bowls contribute an organic warmth and softness to your decor. Gauge:

Gauge is not critical for this project. Any hook and yarn combination that gives you a dense, tight fabric will work.
