I created this blanket design for my eight year old niece who, like me, loves flowers and sparkling gemstones. She absolutely loves it!
The blanket features a rib textured stitch pattern, with eight triple-layer sewn-on flower motifs bordering the top, bottom, and side edges of the blanket and two oval fabric bands in the center containing sewn-on acrylic jewels.
WARNING: if making this blanket for a child under the age of 8, omit the jewels, as they can be a choking hazard.
Yarn (all Red Heart Super Saver brand worsted (4)
acrylic 7 oz (364 yards) skeins):
Four skeins of Petal Pink
One skein of Medium Thyme
One skein of Frosty Green
One skein of Shocking Pink
Flower motifs and jewels are sewn on with all purpose thread in colors matching the motif yarn and jewels.
This pattern is written using U.S. crochet terminology.

I live in a small town in the Great lakes region of the United States. For as long as I can remember, I have always been drawn to creative pursuits, so it is no surprise that two of my favorite hobbies turned out to be crochet and making costume jewelry - two mediums which I sometimes combine.
I began learning how to crochet nine years ago and have been creating and selling crochet patterns on Craftsy since June of 2013. Although it is great fun to create my own designs, I still very much admire the work of other designers, especially clothing and designs containing intricate color patterns. Recently, I have re-acquainted myself with knitting and have begun designing knitting patterns too.
Sincere thanks to all of you who purchase my pattern designs or pick one or more as a favorite. For those of you who purchase my patterns, please know that I would love to see how your project turns out!
