Pattern Description:

Keep warm in the winter with this beautiful afghan covered with giant snowflakes. A matching pillow is also included. They were made alternating white with shades of blue or grey soft worsted weight yarn. This is not as complicated as it looks! A design graph is also included for reference.

This pattern is written in U.S. terms.


Working in pattern:
13 stitches = 4"
16 rows = 4"

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Afghan: 51" wide x 67" long (not including fringe)
  • Pillow: 18" square


  • Size H (5.00 mm) crochet hook
  • Afghan: Soft worsted weight yarn (6 oz./170 g skeins)- 7 white, 3 medium blue or grey, 3 dark blue or black
  • Pillow: Soft worsted weight yarn (6 oz./170 g skeins) - 2 white, 1 medium blue or grey, 1 dark blue or black
  • Tapestry needle
  • 18" square pillow form
