Ermintrude is named after the cow who starred in the BBC children's television programme The Magic Roundabout in the 1960's and 1970's. Ermintrude always had a flower sticking out the side of her mouth, the flowers on my blanket remind me of hers.
Ermintrude measures approx. 70 x 50 ins.
And is made of 188 motifs (13 rows wide, alternate rows of 14 & 15 long).
You will need
The Natural Dye Studio's Godiva Merino Singles DK
Background - 9 skeins of one colour
Flowers - 9 skeins of various colours
Crochet hook in size 4 mm.
Tapestry needle for sewing in loose ends.
I make pretty things exclusively using The Natural Dye Studio's luxury yarns.
The subtle plant dyed colours lend themselves to being mixed together in one big project.
I am fascinated by the gaps between the joined motifs, they often form a secondry
un-planned design that you will only discover after joining them.
I like suprises - :-)
