About this pattern
This pattern was first published in Inside Crochet Issue 39 and is written in UK Crochet terms
It is suitable for an intermediate crocheter. There is no chart, pattern is written round by round
Size: Small - diameter 55cm/ 22in. Large - diameter 90cm/36in

Yarn used in photographed sample:
Cygnet Seriously Chunky●100g/48m/52yd ●Colour Fawn, shade no: 711
Small: 3 balls
Large: 7 balls
First two rows work to a diameter of 15 cm, use this as your tension guide.
12mm crochet hook
Tapestry needle to weave in ends
Special Stitches:
Treble clusters are made as follows, depending on pattern instruction:
Half treble cluster: htr2tog:
Treble cluster: tr2tog:
Large treble cluster: tr3tog
Treble cluster pair: tr2tog, ch1, tr2tog in same ch sp


First two rows work to a diameter of 15 cm, use this as your tension guide.


  • 7 balls Cygnet Seriously Chunky
  • 12mm crochet hook
