I love baskets. Viewing the hanging basket on Pinterest and enjoying the conversations about how to make a basket for the wall got me to thinking about creating a pattern. While walking through Lowe's one afternoon I spied this awesome green jute and decided to give it a try. It's a simple pattern, easy to find materials and can be made from so many different fibers. I promptly made one from heavy handspun wool and it could be felted. The best part, it can be crocheted in less than two hours. Please comment on the pattern directions; it would be most helpful to me.
One size basket varies with materials and hook size, easily adaptable to other yarns and fibers including tee-shirt yarn and plarn.

I have been a clothing designer and weaver for many many years. I had to sell my loom and get a real job. However, when one of my crochet patterns was published in Interweave Crochet Accessories Magazine, I decided... what the heck I can do this and am currently working on a bevy of beautiful Santa hats and booties for taking those Christmas photos of your children. Stay tuned.
