This design was inspired by a lovely window hanging that I spotted at the office window of my boys' school. It had a traditional pineapple design with beads, and I had never seen beads in crochet. I immediately thought of the beaded ornaments I had made and the gorgeous doilies my grandmother had given us all for wedding gifts. I have never had the patience to sit and crochet such intricate and fine novelties, but I figured the ornament would be less time consuming. I finished the pattern with plenty of time to make Christmas gifts for all of my boys' teachers, friends, and family, and subsequently received orders for hundreds over the years. I have since written patterns for a dozen other ornaments, including beads in each design. I hope you enjoy this pattern!

Hi there!
I'm Heather. I am from Sioux Falls, SD and I have been crafting my entire life, from drawing and painting the minute I could hold a crayon, sewing from age five, to crochet as a young woman and finally knitting and wood working as my children grow older. I have done nearly every craft you can imagine. But consistently I return to fiber arts, sewing, beading, painting and wood working. I call myself the "serial crafter." It truly suits me. I don't go a day without creating at least a little something.
While I dabble in so much, my first love is for knit and crochet. I have been writing patterns for years. I keep them here and there, and hope to one day finally get the time to post them online, along with some of my projects.
But little time is left after raising our 4 boys, tending bar, running a daycare, and most recently taking a seamstress job at our local shoe and zipper repair shop. And finally, during the school year, a few friends and I like to meet on Mondays at the coffee shop to knit and chat.
Thank you, Craftsy, for being one truly amazing site! And to everyone, I hope you enjoy crafting as much as I do!
