Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Stitches - slip stitch, chain, single crochet and double crochet. You will also need to know how to sew a hem to prepare the towel for stitching.

Pattern Description:

My grandmother, who taught me to crochet, regularly gave me these towels when I was a young bride. I've created this pattern using those towels as a model.

This pattern is unique among crochet kitchen towels in that the top has a tie rather than a button tab. This tie can be attached to any handle or knob while allowing the towel to hang straight, making it a versatile and useful tool in any kitchen.

This towel can be made up quickly and is a great way to use up scrap yarn in your stash. Handmade kitchen towels make a great gift for any occasion.
