Pattern Description:

Chain spaces and solid stitches combine to form a striking motif that, when multiplied, makes a stunning floral silhouette that camouflages the modular construction of this cardigan. The motifs are joined as-you-go, so there's no seaming at the end. Make a few squares each night and before you know it, your cardigan will be complete!

Suggestions are giving for modifying the bust measurement slightly through differently sized motifs, or follow as written for the 5 listed sizes.

YARN SHOWN: : Louisa Harding "Mulberry", 100% silk, 136 yds 124 m/1.75 oz 50g; 8 (9, 10, 12, 13) balls in #04 Rose.

Gauge:

Size S (XL): Using size D-3 (3.25 mm) hook, first motif measures 4.25"square.
Size M (XXL): Using size 7 (4.5 mm) hook, first motif measures 4.75 square.
Size L: Using size I-9 (5.5 mm) hook, first motif measures 5.25 cm square.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Bust: 34 (38, 42, 47, 52)"
  • Length: 21 (22.5, 26, 25.5, 24)"

Materials:

  • Sport or DK weight yarn, approximately 1088-1768 yards. Pattern gives specific yarn amounts.
  • Crochet hook (see gauge for size info)
  • Six 1/2" diameter buttons
  • Tools for blocking: water, t-pins, blocking wires and blocking board
