Pattern Description:

English ten-dril (t?n'dr?l) -noun Botany.
a threadlike, leafless organ of climbing plants, often growing in spiral form, which attaches itself to or twines round some other body, so as to support the plant.

Tendrillon is a lacy shrug perfect for dressing up even the plainest tops or dresses. It can be made in fingering/4ply, DK/8 ply or worsted/10 ply yarn. It's a recipe style pattern that can be made to fit any size and shape. With a few measurements and simple calculations, you will be able to create a custom-fitted garment.

Gauge:

Gauge is not important for this design. Your own personal "gauge" is used to create a custom fit right from the starting chain.

Materials:

The stitch pattern in this design is best suited to a yarn with some memory such as wool, wool-blends or cotton/nylon/acrylic-blends. Other yarns may be substituted, but this may affect the appearance of the lace pattern and the overall fit.
Worsted/10ply and 5.5 and 5.00mm hooks (heavy worsted is not recommended)
DK/8ply yarn and 4.5 and 4.00mm hooks
Fingering/Sport weight/4ply and 3.5 and 3.00mm hooks
Yardage requirements will depend on the type of yarn chosen and the finished size. It is worth noting that the cabled lace design is rather "yarn-hungry."
