Pattern Description:

Need a bright and sunny thread crochet shrug for warm weather? The hexagonal flower motifs are connected as you go and cascade down the sides to a point in the back. An option is also provided for a short shrug which is straight across the back.

If you love working with thread, this is a great project for the intermediate crocheter.

This pattern is written in U.S. terms.


Working in pattern:
Hexagon Motif =
3-1/4" from side to side or
3-3/4" from point to point

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • The shrug is offered in 3 sizes: 34", 42" and 46". It is also offered in 2 lengths - one that cascades to a point in the back, and one that is straight across the back.


  • Crochet cotton, size 10, in 350 yd. (320 m) balls - 3-7 balls of bright yellow
  • Size 7 (1.65 mm) steel crochet hook

You Will Also Need:

  • Brooch, pierced earring with large backing, or satin ribbon for front closure.
