This dress would certainly not be officially approved as a uniform, but it sure is a pretty costume! I remember my brother and I had one each (he had trousers!), and I recall feeling very special and pretty in it. We even had a shiny whistle in a cord around the neck!
NOTE: The sailor-collar, the hat and the shoes will be listed as separate patterns. Coming up soon!
The Sailor-Dress-pattern has 8 pages with instructions, photo tutorials and stitch diagram.
Sophie's dress is blue with white stripes, it would be beautiful the other way around too! It(tm)s open in the yoke's front, even as I planned to have the opening on the back! But I found 3 lovely brass buttons in my collection, with anchors on, so .. ! With the sailor-collar on, you just turn the dress, front-back to hide the buttons.
The dress is pretty as is, but with the collar, the sailor hat and the nautical shoes on, the princess will look just adorable! This is a dress that will be handed down within the family, choose quality-yarn!

As you probably have guessed, Sophie is my manikin, my dress doll! She is about 3 years old, and has become indispensable in my work with crochet patterns, as there is not a toddler in sight in my neighborhood! She is a perfect child, always available, never cries and don't have to be fed! My husband worries now and then, catching me in talking to her!
I'm Norwegian, living outside Rome for the last years with my Italian husband, and I love it! After a long working life I finally I have time and peace in my mind to craft, create, experiment and design.
I grew up in a small village where my parents by need daily used their skills in all kind of crafts. My mother taught me how to sew, knit and crochet, among other housely things. My father taught me how to fish, climb a mountain, and set tiles, do carpentry, paint and anything else you need to know about building a house.
My education made me a fashion designer, but but I have always worked with interior.
Now I create quality crochet, knitting and other patterns, childrens clothing, jewelry, buttons and paper craft.
