Snuggling Nights at Home
When the days get shorter and the nights cooler, take on warm socks, and snuggle in front of the fireplace!
There are so many beautiful, knee-long socks out there, most of them knitted in fine yarn. And what makes them special? The knitted patterns!
Have you seen these Norwegian patterns? I want Norwegian socks, but crocheted in chunky yarn, and with pattern!
In Norway we have this tradition with multi-colored patterns. For decades cardigans, sweaters, hats, mittens and socks have been knitted in wool, with local variations in the pattern-designs. Integrated in the pattern there always are these contrast distance-stitches, which crawls all over the garment. That's why the cardigans are called Lusekufte; Lice-cardigan!
I wanted Lice on my socks, but first I had to figure out how to do it, in the middle of the double crochet stitches. Done! Not difficult! If the pattern scares you off, just skip it, and work plain socks, they are beautiful as are! And very easy and fast-worked in a chunky yarn.

We all know about socks' limited wearing time. Sadly enough; The heels are the critical point!
What about protecting your new socks with soft, chunky and warm crochet soles?
Or better; Can you imagine to be able to wear your socks as boots . ON THE STREET ?
It's possible! Check out the last image!

As you probably have guessed, Sophie is my manikin, my dress doll! She is about 3 years old, and has become indispensable in my work with crochet patterns, as there is not a toddler in sight in my neighborhood! She is a perfect child, always available, never cries and don't have to be fed! My husband worries now and then, catching me in talking to her!
I'm Norwegian, living outside Rome for the last years with my Italian husband, and I love it! After a long working life I finally I have time and peace in my mind to craft, create, experiment and design.
I grew up in a small village where my parents by need daily used their skills in all kind of crafts. My mother taught me how to sew, knit and crochet, among other housely things. My father taught me how to fish, climb a mountain, and set tiles, do carpentry, paint and anything else you need to know about building a house.
My education made me a fashion designer, but but I have always worked with interior.
Now I create quality crochet, knitting and other patterns, childrens clothing, jewelry, buttons and paper craft.
