Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Skill Level: EASY to INTERMEDIATE This is a project created using basic stitches, simple colour changes and minimal shaping and finishing. It incorporates a repetitive pattern using basic crochet stitches but may require some skill to master. Not recommended for absolute beginners.

Pattern Description:

This is the DK and worsted version of Floreal - a cute baby-doll style that looks like a bed of flowers. Perfect in cotton for summer, or created in wool to be worn over long sleeved tees for extra warmth in winter. It is worked from the top down and is completely seamless. Let your imagination and love for colour go wild with this gorgeous crochet design.

Pattern includes instructions for a Tank Top, Tunic and Dress and separate instructions for DK and Worsted weight yarn

Gauge:

For DK/8ply: 17 sc to 4 inches on 4.5mm hook (or size required to achieve gauge)
For worsted/10ply: 15 sc to 4 inches on 5.0mm hook (or size required to achieve gauge)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 6-12 months through to 10 years
  • To fit 18" - 27" chest

Materials:

  • 4.5mm hook for DK/8ply, or 5mm hook for worsted weight/10ply
  • 275 - 1400m of DK or light worsted yarn
  • Cotton, cotton-blend, wool and wool-blend yarns are recommended.
  • Heavy worsted weight and yarns with a high silk or bamboo content are not suitable for this design.

You Will Also Need:

  • Tapestry needle
  • Approximately 75-120cm of 12mm ribbon
