Pattern Description:

This Crochet Circle Shrug or Vest is a sleeveless design with a circular collar all the way around. You can use a button, or a shawl pin closure if desired.
Skill: Intermediate, with additional instructions provided on my blog.
Worked with worsted weight yarn. Sizes for Small/Medium and Large/X-Large, with additional instructions to increase for Plus Size. Bust measurement varies, depending on if or where you choose to button it.
(Approximately 32 - 36 for small/medium and 38 - 42 for large/x-large with additional inches for the plus size addition.)
It is not form-fitting, but more of a loose style to button or let loose. It is not a tight fit around the arm hole openings and is meant to be a more open and comfortable style.

Gauge:

Gauge - approximately 11 dc X 6 rows = 4"

(Please note that the measurements given for the beginning square (or rectangle) include Round 1 of the edging since the edging pattern starts after this initial round.)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

sized for Small/Medium or Large/Extra Large with additional intructions included to enlarge the outer circle to fit Plus Size if desired

Materials:

worsted weight yarn, approximately 510 to 710 yards, depending on size
J (6 mm) hook

This was a quick project -- made one in the S/M size for my sister (pictured), and one in the L/XL for my mother-in-law. Just wish there were instructions for 2X to fit me!

There were a few rows where my stitches had a different count than the pattern, but it came out fine. This was my second project after just learning to crochet and it came out just like the pattern picture.

A tip would be to use a crochet hook one size smaller to pull the stitches through the ch-1 stitches when doing the rows of sc.

Great project and goes very fast.

Very cute vest. Body measurements would help in determining size. I like it because it is very stylish and has a designer look. I am waiting to see what this designer has next with regards to vests and shrugs.
