medium skill level requirement Intermediate

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Slip stitch

  • extended single crochet

Pattern Description:

This crochet pattern was inspired by a knit top I saw in the store and wanted in crochet! There wasn't any beading on that one, but creating a crochet pattern with beading and very little shaping seemed like a great opportunity to help beginner or advanced beginner crocheters push their skills forward.

The Caribbean Sail crochet pattern includes notes, schematics and charts to help you understand what needs to be done in order to achieve the desired results. This pattern is easily adjusted for any size and doesn't include any shaping. The only area of trial & error is the connection between the top and bottom portions of the top.

Sedie on

In 2002 I taught myself to crochet after I met my then fiance's grandmother. Not only did she crochets, but she knits, makes paper beads, quilts, paints and recycles everything that comes into her home. I figured if she could do all those things, then I had to be able to do at least one. Thus began my Yarn Obsession. My first project was a scarf for my fiance.
