Dress for cold weather in style with this ruana-type thread crochet shawl in fiery fall colors of black, red and orange. This versatile shawl can be worn in many ways, such as belted, straight or wrapped around the shoulders.
Using two strands of thread together makes the project go more quickly. This is a repeating pattern for most of the shawl, with a length of thread left at the end of each row to create the fringe at the front and back. Follow the instructions closely for the neck shaping section which only has fringe along the bottom edge of the back.
This pattern is written in U.S. terms.
Working in pattern:

I have always loved crafting!
My mom and I learned to crochet together when I was 12 because there was a crocheted vest I wanted to make. We worked through it and figured it out together. I have been crocheting ever since. I started writing down patterns when making snowflakes, one of my favorite projects to make. I love working on any kind of thread crochet project such as connect as you go ...

My mom and I learned to crochet together when I was 12 because there was a crocheted vest I wanted to make. We worked through it and figured it out together. I have been crocheting ever since. I started writing down patterns when making snowflakes, one of my favorite projects to make. I love working on any kind of thread crochet project such as connect as you go motifs, filet crochet, etc. My other favorite crochet projects are working on my reversible designs.
I also enjoy cross stitch and knitting. Someday I hope to learn quilting and tatting.
