I designed this pattern due to the many requests I received for viking hats. This design features post stitches down the front and back center to create the raised ridge. It also uses post stitches to create the ridges in the lower edge border - as well as one row of bobble stitches to give it added personality. The horns are made after and whipstitched into place. In the featured photos - I've used different colors to make the details stand out. It also turns out nice in a solid color for the hat with a contrasting color for the horns only.
4 rows, 6 stitches hdc = 2 inches. (use one size smaller than this for horns)
130 yards of Worsted weight
I love to crochet! I also enjoy knitting. I have done quite a bit of quilting as well, but most of my time is spend designing crochet projects these days :-)
