Pattern Description:

This step-by-step written tutorial and pictorial was created for someone who has never picked up a crochet hook . Using this tutorial will show the user how to make a slip stitch, hold your hands and how to make a chain stitch. After practicing these skills the user is encouraged to make two necklaces to reinforce what they have learned. I would like to encourage those who have never crocheted before to "take up the hook."

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • One size fits all


  • Chain Necklace: 3 yards bright green worsted weight yarn
  • 3 yards bright yellow worsted weight yarn
  • 3 yards bright orange worsted weight yarn
  • Beaded Necklace: 5 yards purple worsted weight yarn.

You Will Also Need:

  • Size H crochet hook
  • 35 purple beads that you can string on your yarn
  • Darning needle
  • Small piece of tape
  • Necklace clasp for each side - optional
