Pattern Description:

This keyhole scarf is made using a variation on the crocodile stitch to create a ruffled "scaled" texture.

This pattern includes a photo tutorial to demonstrate how to make the twisted crocodile stitch.

Each skein of Galler Yarns Heather Prime Alpaca makes 2 scarfs.

Row width = 4" (10 cm). Follow the pattern for 4" (10 cm) in length before measuring gauge. Check your gauge for best results and fit :).


  • Galler Yarns Heather Prime Alpaca yarn (8 oz/665 yds/100% Superfine Alpaca/#3 light weight) - Color 207 (Each scarf uses approximately 240 yds.)
  • H-8 (5 mm) crochet hook or any size needed to obtain correct gauge
  • Yarn needle
