I'm a knit and crochet teacher, and this is a simple little design I came up with for my students, who wanted to explore granny squares, without making a granny square afghan. This is just one of several designs I worked on for them, to show them the power, the simplicity, and the beauty that is granny squares!
It features the humble granny square, and has a drawstring closure. This bag can be lined (directions for lining are not included) and used as a clutch, or used as is as a fun wristlet. I've been using it to store my "unmentionables" in my larger work bag (which gets searched every night as I leave). If you match my gauge, it also fits a CD perfectly, to use as a gift bag.
Many thanks to my testers, pandastamper, blacky67, ritha, shyamanivas, and wilmaelee!
Feel free to make as many of these as you like for local craft fairs/auctions/raffles/bazaars, but please do not sell finished items online. If making for charity, please let me know the name of the charity & include my contact info with the item (email@example.com / http://anastaciaknits.net). If you have any questions or comments or just want to join like-minded souls, please join my Ravelry group at http://www.ravelry.com/groups/anastacia-knits-designs. Thanks!
1st round measures 1.75" across, 4 rows=2.5". Exact gauge doesn't matter

My name is Anastacia, and I am the scrap yarn/one skein queen. I buy my yarn mainly at yard sales/thrift stores, so I got used to making do with what I could find. So most of my patterns are designed to use up the odd skeins or leftovers in your life, and are geared towards beginner crocheters or those who just want a fast, easy, but still pretty item.
I'm a 30 something adult living in MA. I’m married, have a wonderful cat named Wedgie, & I work full time. I also teach knitting & crocheting at my local Michael's & squeeze in designing as many hours as I can a week.
I do love to hear from everyone, but please remember that I am busy, just like you, & will reply as soon as I can.
All of my patterns use USA terms & abbreviations.
I try to layout my patterns as simply as possible to save money for people printing at home. My patterns are as short as possible, usually with only one photo on the first page, which you can easily skip printing to save ink.
