I LOVE scarves. In fact they are my new jewelry. This is a lighter scarf in weight and color because it is really hot this time of year. It would make a great transition into fall. While I worked this pattern in natural and white colors, it could be done in nearly any color combo of your choice. The fiber is furry like terry cloth, but I think it would look really great in a smooth cotton, milk or soy fiber or hemp. Experiment away. I have included several photos of the process to help explain this pattern.
This pattern is one fancy chain to begin with and three rows, that's it. It works up fast and there is only one frustration alert...
Use any combo of hook and yarn to make your scarf totally yours.
I have been a clothing designer and weaver for many many years. I had to sell my loom and get a real job. However, when one of my crochet patterns was published in Interweave Crochet Accessories Magazine, I decided... what the heck I can do this and am currently working on a bevy of beautiful Santa hats and booties for taking those Christmas photos of your children. Stay tuned.
