Pattern Description:

This beanie coordinates perfectly with my Star Stitch Diaper Cover pattern, available separately.

This is a PDF crochet pattern for a fun textured star stitch beanie in six sizes, newborn baby to large adult. This is not a beginner pattern, I consider it intermediate. There is a photo tutorial included to learn the star stitch, and also several video links for other techniques.

All of my patterns are written using U.S. Standard Crochet Terminology.

15 stitches and 9 rows in half double crochet = 4" x 4" (10 cm x 10 cm)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 0-3 months: 12-14" circumference
  • 3-6 months: 14-16" circumference
  • 6-12 months: 16-18" circumference
  • toddler/child: 18-20" circumference
  • teen/adult: 20-22" circumference
  • large adult: 22-24" circumference


  • 5 oz or less of worsted weight cotton yarn
  • "J" (6 mm) crochet hook
