  • sl st = slip stitch
  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • hdc = half double crochet
  • blo = back loop only
  • sc2tog = single crochet two together (decrease)

Ribbing gauge, seven complete ribbing repeats = 4", H hook

Crown gauge, 3" square = 10 sc and 13 rows, G hook

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Small/Medium fits approximate 19" - 20.5" head circumference (average Child/Tween)
  • Medium/Large fits approximate 20.5" - 22" head circumference (average Teen/Adult)


  • G/6 (4.25 mm) hook or size needed to obtain correct gauge
  • H/8 (5.00 mm) hook or size needed to obtain correct gauge
  • I/9 (5.50 mm) hook
  • worsted weight yarn (recommended yarn Lion Brand Cotton Ease)
