Serafina was originally inspired by the flying witch Serafina Pekkala who is a character in the children's book Northern Lights (The Golden Compass). She helps Lyra, the book's heroine.
Serefina states "A witch would no sooner give up flying than give up breathing. To fly is to be perfectly ourselves". YOU WILL NEED
You will need
The Natural Dye Studio's Dazzling Lace
10 gms of Lundy
15 gms of Pink Blackmoor Gate
45 gms of Blackmoor Gate
25 gms of Paracombe
30 gms of Watersmeet 25 gms of Westerwood
25 gms of Pale Westerwood
Crochet hook in size 2.5 mm.
SIZE, CONSTRUCTION & TENSION
Serefina measures approx. 63 inches on the top edge, 25 inches from top edge to centre bottom. The blocked motifs measure approx. 2.5 inches from corner to corner.
Everyone has a different tension, so before you start your project you will need to measure your first motif. Experiment with a few hook sizes to get the effect you want and then block the finished motif. Once it is blocked you can measure it.

I make pretty things exclusively using The Natural Dye Studio's luxury yarns.
The subtle plant dyed colours lend themselves to being mixed together in one big project.
I am fascinated by the gaps between the joined motifs, they often form a secondry
un-planned design that you will only discover after joining them.
I like suprises - :-)
