Pattern Description:

This novelty Elf/Pixie Hat will put a smile on your face as well as keep you warm.

Sizes small newborn to large adult can be worked so none of Santa's Little Helpers have to go without!

Materials: You may use any yarn for this project so quantities of yarn vary. As a guide, the largest size uses approximately 100-150g (300-450m) double knit (8 ply).

You will also need an appropriately sized hook, a needle for neatening ends, a stitch marker and a small amount of stuffing.

This pattern is written in UK terms with a table of US equivalents as applicable.


8 stitches and 6 rows = 2 inches in Using DK yarn in trebles

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Newborn to adult


  • 3.5mm hook (E)

You Will Also Need:

  • needle for neatening ends

  • small amount of stuffing

Suggested yarn:

376 meters of DK weight
