Pattern Description:
The raised floral design in this lightweight beret reminds me of the embossed Italian waffle cookies of the same name. Working cables in the round from the top down is one of my favorite techniques, since I can always see the "right side" as I work the design. Although this pattern requires more focus and a few more stitches due to the lace weight yarn, the stunning results are worth your time.
Gauge:
First 10 rounds of pattern worked and blocked
measures about 4" in diameter.
26 dc over 17 rows measures 4" square, blocked.
take time to check gauge.
Sizing / Finished Measurements:
- Beret measures about 13" in circumference at head opening, un-stretched, but easily stretches to fit heads measuring 20-23". Laid flat, hat measures about 10" in diameter. One size fits most.
Materials:
- Size C-2 (2.75 mm) crochet hook or any size to obtain gauge

- yarn needle
- 10 or 11 inch dinner plate (for blocking)
