The raised floral design in this lightweight beret reminds me of the embossed Italian waffle cookies of the same name. Working cables in the round from the top down is one of my favorite techniques, since I can always see the "right side" as I work the design. Although this pattern requires more focus and a few more stitches due to the lace weight yarn, the stunning results are worth your time.
