Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Working in the round
  • This pattern is worked from the bottom of the hat up and calls for a technique called Double Crochet Base Chain, or Foundation Double Crochet. If you are not familiar with this technique, please refer to the photo tutorial on the last page, or check out this video to see it in action: (Thanks to Brianna at The Crochet Side for graciously granting me permission to use her video for reference)

Pattern Description:

Make a cute little Mixie Pixie Cap of your own! These hats are worked from the bottom up and have a nice stretchy bottom to fit a variety of head sizes. **Also includes pattern for attached Curly-Q flower**

This pattern happened purely on instinct. I love it when that happens. Take an idea and a hook and sit down and it works out the first time. Yep, most patterns have to be tweaked a bit to get them just right (at least for me) but some just make me want to sing because they play nice and give me just what my brain wanted. Make this one in stripes or all in one color, make it with a tail or just leave the tail off and you'll have a nice little pointy top.

About the designer

Once upon a time, I lived in a small town and saw something crocheted and just HAD to learn what it was and how to do it. I was 11, and I haven't stopped since - I can honestly say that crocheting ...
