Hello, The ladies at my church are making market bags to sell so that we can support the effort of a family in Alberta, Canada, who is fostering as many native children as they can who have been removed from their homes on the reserve. These children have been removed due to abuse and neglect, and many of them are dealing with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome as well. All the money we get for our bags will go directly to this family. NO MONEY will go to our church or our ladies who worked to make the bags. All our time and materials are our donation. The cost of living in northern Alberta, near the Indian reserves, is very high and they need many diapers and formula, etc. Would you be willing to let us sell bags made from your Mad Market Bag pattern in the interest of helping this family also? We are more than willing to credit you for the pattern/design however you would desire. Thank you for your consideration. Please respond to me at megcwheeler(at)hotmail(dot)com. Hopefully,Meg Wheeler
I don't know if you've heard back from the designer yet or not, but the disclaimer on the pattern states that you cannot resell or redistribute the pattern in any way. As far as finished products go, I would assume you can sell them if you'd like, regardless of the cause, and definitely credit the pattern designer for the pattern. I too am an Alberta girl, but I live way down south! :)
I'm sorry I am just seeing this now. You can of course, sell the bags made from this pattern. That is fully legal. My disclaimer is there so that folks know that selling the PATTERN as their own and charging for it are not legal. Legally, no designer can tell you that you cannot sell something from their patterns. You made it, you can sell it. They only have control over the written pattern itself, NOT what folks do make with it.
Fun and easy project! I love this bag!
This bag was easy and fun. It worked up pretty quick. I did make a mistake and added more rounds since it didn't look big enough but once it stretched now it's too long! Oh darn now I need to make another one ;) Thanks for this pattern I love it!
