Once you get this shawl going, it's really easy and fun to do. It doesn't require a lot of counting so you can pick it up and put it down very easily. I'm VERY happy with the results. Thanks for the great pattern!

I have downloaded this pattern. I have purchased the yarn. I am unable to purchase a 3.75mm crochet hook. What size crochet hook would you suggest I use: a 4.00mm or a 3.50mm?

3.75mm is a size F or 5 (in the US). If you can't find one then you should make a test swatch and check your gauge and go with the closest

You did not include a gauge or tension guide in the pattern instructions?

I would imagine that with a shawl, gauge is not quite as important, however it IS good to include in the pattern what gauge (tension) the designer achieved. Some beginning designers don't know HOW to calculate their gauge. It's probably why this pattern is free. The designer isn't quite 'up to snuff' on all the nuances of designing and writing out instructions yet. A lovely piece anyway. I'll be downloading it and making it for myself and for others. Perhaps one of us could leave a comment as to the tension we achieved to help out the designer...she could take a look at the different tensions and give a general one by calculating the differences and coming up with a general "guesstimate". T'would be a nice thing for those of us who can calculate our tension to do for her! When I make mine, I'll leave a comment with the gauge I achieved. Why don't you do the same so she has a general idea of what tensions we get? Just make sure we put down what size hook we used..Imperial (US) and Metric? Good idea? A nice thing to do, I believe!
