La Mar Hat Pattern

Pattern Details

Type:

Accessory

Fit:

Women

Item:

Hat

Skill Level:

medium skill level requirement Intermediate

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Slip stitch crochet

Pattern Description:

I have improvised this stitch pattern, and I am very pleased with how it worked out in a hat. In this color it reminds me of the deep blue sea, hence the name of the hat.

I recommend using non-fuzzy yarn with woollen content, but if you are after an economy version, it will still work out nicely in acrylic. Do make sure you get the gauge right if you want to make it in the size intended. If not, or if you want to make it smaller/bigger/more slouchy/less slouchy, you will need to consider changing the number of stitch pattern repeats worked (I have included some guidance on this in the introductory notes).

The pattern is written using American crochet terminology.

The pattern is fairly easy, but you need to be comfortable with slip stitch crochet, which is why I have marked it as "intermediate".

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or if anything is not quite clear. I will be more than happy to help and will appreciate your feedback.
