Being a mum of two, I adore making children's wear and toys. My crochet designs are romantic and colourful. As a little girl, I was always a huge fan of fairies and pixies. I adored the fantastical stories with magic and endless possibilities. I like to let these nostalgic memories inspire me to make creations that are bright, fun and a celebration of childhood.
Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy my patterns as much as I have creating them.
This is the most adorable looking Pixie hat! This pattern has six sizes available from Preemie/Newborn to Adult, so you can make matching ones for the whole family! The great thing about this hat is that you can wear it in a number of different ways. Roll up the cuff, pull the beanie over the ears, or sit the beanie towards the back of your head. It's very versatile and is perfect for those fast growing bubs, because as bub grows, you can adjust the hat to fit in different ways. Mum's love things that last!
I have included the six sizes to give you lots of options but I would suggest that if you are making this hat for an average size newborn that you make the 3-6 month size. I did this for my little boy, and while he was a newborn I rolled up the cuff, and after a couple months he fit beautifully in the hat with the cuff rolled down. He even could wear the same hat at almost 12 months with it sitting at the back of his head, and his ears poking out like a true little pixie. If you would prefer the unrolled-cuff look for newborn, I have included that pattern too.
