sls = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
magic ring/circle
invisible decrease (Invisible decrease should only be done when the right side is facing. Insert hook under front loop of first stitch. Insert hook under front loop of second stitch. Yarn over, pull through two loops on hook, yarn over and pull though last two loops on hook.)
reverse single crochet (aka crab stitch - without turning work, sc from left to right.)

Pattern Description:

Adorable hat pattern includes instructions for BOTH the Happy Kitty and the Happy Puppy hat. Each size includes instructions on how to make the hat with or without the earflaps.

Recommended yarn is Bernat DenimStyle, a super soft cotton/acrylic blend. But as long as you get gauge, most worsted weight yarn will work.

XtraSmall fits approximate 14-16" head circumference (average newborn - 3 months)
Small fits approximate 16-18" head circumference (average 3 - 9 months)
Medium fits approximate 18-19" head circumference (average 9 months - 3 years)
Large fits approximate 19-20.5" head circumference (3 years - 6 years)

Materials:

I/9 (5.50 mm) hook or size needed to obtain correct gauge
1 skein color A for hat and ears (recommended yarn: Bernat Denim Style)
Small amount of color B for muzzle (if different color)
Small amount of pink yarn for nose and mouth (Kitty only)
Small amount of black yarn for eyes
Small amount of polyester stuffing fiberfill
