Pattern Description:

"Granny" is a simple to make crocheted cloche hat from baby size to adult. This hat has an open granny square design giving it a delicate and airy look for spring. It is finished off with a scallop edge or a plain edge with accent colors. Note: The "Cloche" and "Granny" base hats are the same hat. "Cloche" has ribbon flowers and "Granny" has the crochet fluffy flower.

A cloche hat is a fitted, bell shaped hat that was popular during the 1920s. Cloche is the French word for bell. Often, different styles of ribbons affixed to the hats indicated different messages about the wearer.

I have included instructions for making a detachable fluffy flower and leaves. You can make this flower with less rounds and add it to a hair band or make a hair bow or lapel pin.

I have made my hat with 100% cotton yarn, but most any sport weight yarn is suitable. You will only need to know basic crochet skills to accomplish construction of this hat.
