Hi There, from Cindy Kamps,

My recent trip to Puerta Vallarta inspired this Design.
I was on the beach and in the water just about every day and I think my hair stayed wet for the whole month I was there!

I have long hair, so I was constantly pulling my ponytail through a cap, putting it into a knot, or wearing a Du rag pirate scarf, none of which helped my hair dry out.

I solved the problem by crocheting an open stitch head wrap that looked great and also allowed my hair to air dry.

I got so many compliments on it, I found a vendor to make and sell them for me. Needless to say, we can barely keep them in stock now.

I am now working on a complete collection of these and will be releasing the patterns as they are completed.

THIS IS A BEGINNER FRIENDLY CROCHET PATTERN.

Gauge:

Size D Hook
3" X 3" DC Square= 16 DC Wide X 7 DC Rows Deep

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

Adult....reduce hook size for child

Materials:

200 Yards #3 Crochet Thread (OR you could use 2 strands held together of #10 Crochet Thread. Double the yardage if using #10 Crochet Thread)
