Pattern Description:

In looking for some additional hat styles for baby boys, I went searching for a pattern for this type of newsboy hat with the pinched front ... aka Jeff cap, driving cap, golf cap, scally cap ... I call it a Donegal cap because of our family ties to County Donegal, Ireland.

When I couldn't find a pattern that would allow me to sell the hats online, I decided that I would use my crocheting expertise to design my own hat ... and the Donegal cap was born. You may sell items made from this pattern but not the pattern itself. Please see the copyright notice for specific details.

I love this hat!! This is such a cute hat for both boys, and men! My son looks ADORABLE in this hat!! Every time my son wears this hat, I am always asked by others to make one for their son! Great pattern, very easy to read, and fantastic finished results!!

This hat is super-easy and I love the pattern instructions. They are VERY clearly written. She steps out every size and every row, instead of just writing variations on one pattern. It makes the printout long, but the pattern is sooooo easy to work! Be sure to read my comments for my project as posted. Thanks for such a great pattern! (ps I made the largest size hat with G hook; I think I will go up to H for next hat)

This is a fabulous pattern. With sizes from newborn to adult, I think I'll be getting a lot of use out of it. Plus, I've always wanted a hat like this but have a rather large head and a lot of hair to contend with - they're usually too small, but not if you make your own!
