This pattern is for a cosy newborn baby cocoon with a circumference of 22cm and a length of 31cm. The pattern includes a photo tutorial on the crocodile stitch which will help those who have never done it before.
This chunky cocoon is ideal for keeping baby warm outside on cold days and would make a brilliant photography prop especially when combined with my Little Petals Crocodile Stitch Hat and my free pattern for Crocodile Stitch Baby Mittens!
The pattern has been tested by two Ravelry users.

All abbreviations and special stitches explained.
US terminology used throughout.
Tools needed: 4mm (G) and 4.5mm (G7) hooks
Material needed: DK/Light Worsted/8ply baby yarn

Gauge: 5 stitches and 2 rows per inch (2.5cm) in the bottom part of the cocoon.
