Basic Skills Necessary:

  • single crochet
  • increase
  • decrease
  • front loop only
  • foundation stitches

Pattern Description:

I found, whilst pushing That Child's pram, that my hands were getting cold (not something I was used to) so decided I needed gloves. The fingers of the gloves got in the way of any hand function what so ever so off I went to fingerless gloves. It was so cold this winter that even fingerless gloves just didn't cut it, so I made convertible mittens instead. The "mitten" bit keeps my hands warm but can be folded back so I don't have to remove the gloves every time That Child needs something.

This pattern uses SC/DC, Increases, decreases and foundation SC/DC (tutorial available on my blog)


10 SC x 10 Rows = 3 inches

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • medium


  • 4mm hook
  • DK yarn
