Cippikal Scarf Cippikal

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • chn sc & trc

Pattern Description:

Cippikaḷ is "cockle shell" in Tamil".
The cockle shell is the commonest, loveliest shell one can always find at the beach and it's probably been the
inspiration for innumerable 'shelled creations' in craft.

The project is worked sideways. It starts as a seemingly 'straight' pattern, and after a few rows, starts to 'move' diagonally, with one flat (non-increase) edge, and one 'diagonal' (increase) edge.
The finish has two options. You can just end off with a diagonal edge, or mimic the start edge.

This pattern has been tested using :
1. 3-ply acrylic (light fingering) 85g / 485 yds ; 4 mm (G) crochet hook ;
